Celtic Knot Border in Illustrator
Learn how to make a Celtic knot border in Adobe Illustrator for a St. Patrick's Day Irish blessing, greeting card, or party invitation.

In this tutorial, I will use Adobe Illustrator to create a Celtic knot border design that will hold an Irish blessing. I'll use a grid and rulers, work with the Pen tool, create color swatches and graphic styles, and make intertwined lines by means of a clipping mask. I'll also use the Selection tool, Scale tool, and Reflect tool. I'll add text using the Type tool, and apply specifications to the text using the Character panel and Paragraph panel.

Illustrator CS4 was used for this tutorial, but you should be able to follow along with another version as long as it is fairly recent. To follow along, launch your Illustrator program and proceed to the next page.
